BOOK  YOUR FITTING BELOW

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO HAVE THE RIGHT FITTING BRA

With over 80% of women not wearing the correct bra size it is so important that we take the time to get fit, measured for the proper size and try on a selection of bra styles, brands and designs. The shape of our breasts is largely determined by the bra that we wear and without a properly fitting bra our overall appearance is affected. A great bra can transform an outfit and more importantly a woman’s feeling of confidence in those garments. But the most imperative reason to get fit for a bra is your breast health. Our breasts are made up of delicate tissue that is influenced by outside sources of support. Without the proper support our breast tissue can be pulled by gravity causing sagging that impedes lymphatic drainage and interferes with our overall cellular health and increases the chance of breast disease.

WHY DO WOMAN TYPICALLY HAVE SUCH A HARD TIME FINDING A GOOD BRA?

Finding a great bra doesn’t have to be an overwhelming task, but most women are unsure of where to find the best bra for them. We recommend that each woman take the time to get fit by a professional. As a professional we can help you determine the correct size while taking into account any concerns that you may have about your bra. Once the appropriate size is determined we encourage women to try on many different styles to find the best fit – there will likely be several! Especially with the different fashions of clothing that are available, some styles are specifically made to work best with different clothing options. It is also important that you try on different brands. Different brands tend to cater to a certain fit or range of bra sizes. For example, our guests with larger breasts can find a wide range of styles and cuts from brands like PrimaDonna, Empreinte, Fantasie and Panache. While our smaller busted guests love brands like MarieJo, OnGossamer, Timpa and Chantelle that cater to smaller sizes.

SIGNS YOU ARE WEARING THE WRONG SIZE BRA

YOUR BRA IS UNCOMFORTABLE

First and foremost if your bra is uncomfortable this is huge indication that there is an issue with the fit of the bra. A bra that is causing discomfort may be impacting your breast health, posture and overall body image and appearance. And with over 80% of women wearing the wrong size bra it is so important that you are fit properly to prevent issues with breast health, shape and support and overall comfort.

1.

THE BRIDGE AND/OR CUPS OF YOUR BRA ARE SITTING AWAY FROM YOUR BODY

The bridge of your bra, the middle portion of the bra that connects the two cups, has a critical role in the function and comfort of your bra. This small but important piece helps to separate and shape the breasts and in a properly fitting bra should rest flat or flush against the center of the chest.

2.

YOUR BREAST ARE SPILLING OUT OF THE TOP OR SIDES OF YOUR BRA

This is a very common issue and a huge indication that you are in the wrong bra size. If your breast tissue is spilling out of the bra, it’s likely that you need to go up a cup size or try a different bra style, possibly something that offers more coverage or is seamed to provide more side coverage and support.

3.

THE STRAPS OF YOUR BRA ARE FALLING OFF OR THEY'RE DIGGING INTO YOUR SHOULDERS

A common misconception is that the bra straps offer the most support and should be tight enough to give the breast lift, when in actuality the straps of your bra only offer about 10% of the bra’s total support. Straps that are digging into your shoulders are likely caused by wearing an incorrect band size that causes us to over tighten the bra straps to overcompensate for a poor fit. Similarly, if your bra straps are continuously falling off your shoulders, you’re probably wearing the wrong size. A properly fit bra will eliminate these issues and ensure that you aren’t pulling at your straps or in pain all day.

4.

YOUR'RE CONSTANTLY TUGGING YOUR BRA DOWN = YOUR BAND IS RIDING UP YOUR BACK

This is one of the biggest indications that you are in the wrong size! The band is the most important feature of your bra. It contributes the most to the fit of the bra and allows the weight of the breast to be distributed throughout the entirety of the bra’s band, giving you the lift and support you need.   If the band of your bra is riding up your back, it is because the band is too loose. A proper fitting bra should be comfortably snug and fit around your ribcage parallel to the floor. Of course, bras loosen over time and need to be adjusted – which can be done by moving the clasp of your bra from the farthest set of hooks into the middle set (and so on).
